Stacy Fong was born and raised in Northern California, the middle child in a family of 10.  After graduating from U.C. Berkeley in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture, she relocated to Southern California.  From 1987 to 2007, she co-owned and operated Syndesis, the manufacturer of Syndecrete, a pre-cast lightweight concrete surfacing material in Santa Monica, until it was sold to Headwaters, Inc.  While raising three children, she was also the business manager and partner of David Hertz Architect, Inc/Studio of Environmental design.  In 2009, Ms. Fong ventured out on her own and is now the principal of the multi-disciplinary design firm, Q, in Santa Monica, California.

She finds her inspirations through her extensive travels around the globe.  Whether traveling 10 minutes or 10,000 miles from home, each new experience with the built and natural environment  leaves a visceral mark that ends up coloring her next design venture with limitless possibilities.    In 2009, she and her children explored Antarctica, accomplishing travel to all 7 continents.

Her work has been published in International design publications and exhibited in museums worldwide.
